The take up of virtualisation and wireless technologies is being driven by a need to simplify access to networks, it has been claimed.
According to software solutions provider Azlan, global enterprises are increasingly considering alternatives to traditional desktop PCs and notebooks and are likely to turn to solutions like thin client.
Sean Kendrick, director of marketing and small and medium-sized businesses at Azlan Europe, commented: "The number of businesses deploying virtualisation and wireless technologies is increasing rapidly, driven by a need for simpler, more manageable and cost-efficient access to systems and networks."
He went on to say that value-creating distribution systems can lead to the development of initiatives which accelerate the adoption of business-enabling technologies.
Last week, Innovations International claimed firms that make use of virtualisation technology can become stronger by increasing efficiency while scaling down their physical workload.
The group added that virtualisation also saves on energy costs and the overhead expenditure of maintaining a central business location.
