Mobile Technologies, Video and Cloud Computing to increase Network budget by 8.7% in 2012, says a fresh study at IDC.
The latest study by IDC, has found that the year 2012, will commence with major spending on networking equipment and infrastructure across market segments. Three new technologies-- Mobile Technology in the Enterprises, exponential rate of Video Consumption and
Cloud computing-- will ensure enterprises across the globe increase their budget outlay for Networking Infrastructure by $39.4 billion over the next eleven months.
The study conducted over the last four months of 2011, reveals that enterprises will spending more on enterprise network equipment and
network monitoring by almost 8.7% by 2012. This will be an increase of 3.8% over the previous year. Moreover, the beginning of new five-year cycle for network equipment will also substantially contribute to the spending increase.
Rohit Mehra, the Director of Enterprise Communications Infrastructure says that, 2012 could well be the year when BYOD and other corporate IT support mobile devices will affect a balance. Video consumption too will increase from the present 590 million in 2011 as more employees move to mobile computing and social media connectivity becomes the accepted standard. Additionally, digital marketing initiatives, variants of virtual conferencing and emerging video technology will drive an increase in networking spend in 2012, affirms IDC.
