IT solutions provider Verizon has been praised in a new report for the range of multi protocol label switching (MPLS) network and Ethernet services it offers.

The company has been placed in the Leaders Quadrant of a new Gartner report, which means it offers the full portfolio of voice and data products alongside above-average services and support.

According to the Magic Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers study, Verizon also has a strong vision in terms of expanding its IT capabilities.

Anthony Recine, vice-president of network and communications solutions for the firm, said its track record in delivering global managed services sets the company apart from rivals.

He added: "Our network is the essential platform for our ever-broadening array of managed services, including offerings in areas such as infrastructure utility, security, managed mobility and application assurance."

News of Verizon's inclusion in the report has come after the firm announced the launch of new VoIP and internet offerings aimed at small and medium-sized businesses.
