IT solutions provider Juniper has successfully introduced the Arrownet MPLS network at the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).

Powered by Juniper's M Series Multiservice Edge routers and the Junos operating system, Arrownet is design for high-volume data communications with a latency of less than two milliseconds.

The network is one of several IT innovations put in place to ensure the TSE is able to assume its position as a top exchange for securities, options and derivatives trading.

Yoshinori Suzuki, managing director and chief information officer of TSE, said: "We look for our IT infrastructure to be secure, reliable and able to quickly accommodate and adapt to changes in market conditions."

He added that Arrownet would prove to be "an important network platform" for the organisation.

News of the move has come after Covad Communications recently confirmed it is now offering virtual private network services through its MPLS network across the US.
