According to data centre solutions provider Joynet, cloud computing can provide highly-scalable computing resources at low start-up costs.

The companies added that they have combined to provide a managed hosting and distribution solution able to deliver music, movies, television, podcasts and e-books without requiring outside investment.

Research by the group found around two-thirds of managers in this position do not know what cloud computing is, while 37 per cent said their company does not use the technology.
